Looking at Paintings
Thursday 3rd July 2025 from 19:30 until 20:30

An hour looking at a painting - sometimes famous, sometimes not. All welcome, and no art knowledge or academic background required - we just discuss a painting together, what we see, how a painting makes its impact, how it makes us feel, think, respond. No wrong opinions!
The painting is a surprise each time, so that participants come to it fresh. There is a limit of 10 tickets for each session, to keep the group a manageable size for discussion.
Led by Dr Victoria Mier, who has a PhD in art history from Bristol University and has been a university teacher - but this is all about looking. There will be a little art-historical context at the end, but it's not an academic session in any way - just come and share your thoughts and enjoy looking more closely at paintings.
